Information and Stats
Quinlan, Texas has a population of just over 1,900.  Quinlan Volunteer Fire Department covers an  area of a 125 square mile radius of Hunt County.  We are a first response fire department which means we respond to fires, motor vehicle accidents, medical, and most other types of emergencies.

Our department apparatus includes 2 booster trucks, 2 fire engines, and one tanker.  We also have a medical ambulance which is primarily used for the rehabilitation of our firefighters on the scene of a fire.

The fire department is maintained by volunteers who are residents of Quinlan or near cities, consisting of a near equal membership of male and female volunteers.  To become a volunteer you must attend six consecutive meetings which are around the first and third Thursday of the month.  During that time you should respond on calls for observance and obtain a variety of training provided by members of the department.  After you have completed six meetings, you are then voted in by department members.  At this time, we do not provide a Junior Firefighters program, but we are currently researching the possibility of one soon.
